A Little Setback

Just a quick update...Zoe has had a little set back, the C-diff has flared again making her really ill....I'll spare everyone the gory details!! She was way under the weather all weekend so Sunday evening we went to the ER and she was admitted. It doesn't seem as bad as the first time so hopefully she'll only be there a few days. If you are calling/emailing she may be slow to respond so be patient! She is looking forward to her move to Flordia and is anxious to get home and keep packing. Send prayers for a speedy recovery!

  1. Thank you for the update. Hopefully, she is home now and resting. I can come help her with her move. I commented on a recent blog but perhaps it wasn't "accepted". Please let her know we are thinking of her. Cynthia & other Seattle friends.

  2. Hi Zoe and Debi. Just found out about your blog. Very cool way to keep us all up to date. Regarding C-diff, it's of course a pathogenic bacteria that grows in number when your gut bacteria have been hit hard by chemo or antibiotics. And additional antibiotics are often then used to fight the C-diff. One strategy for improvement, which you could ask your Doc about, would be to add prebiotics into your routine, to help increase the ratio of beneficial bacteria, so they can competitively exclude the C-diff. Prebiotics also help produce short chain fatty acids like butyrate, which can help your gut wall tissues perform better. If you'd like for me to send you any of the ProBiotein that we use, just let me know. Should help and it's just wheat, oats, barley and flax. Best of luck on getting past this tough hurdle. Geoff and Candace Daigle.
