Happy Fourth of July It started as a lovely, rainy day. What a nice respite from the heat. However, after just three hours I again ran out of steam and spent the rest of the day in bed. At least I had a few good hours. Since starting my new treatment on June 12 I have had a tough time and another infection. Dr. Dragovich told me to expect three bad days and then I would start to feel stronger. After treatment one, I spent all but three days (out of fourteen) in bed -- bummer. Treatment two on June 26 was adjusted so I expected an improvement. Unfortunately it has been a week and I still feel lousy. The bad part is friends from Washington, D.C., Redondo Beach, CA, and the U.K. have been in town and I have been too ill to do much. They were still great medicine and I loved even the small amount of time we had together. Depression is rearing its ugly head as I wallow in my lack of independence. Except for the generosity of friends and volunteers, I am housebound. Time to buck up.
