Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep
It all began so simply. In November 2011 I thought I only had a stomach virus. Now on April 26, 2013 I only have two to three weeks to live (and yesterday I thought I had two to three months). How quickly things change.
Thank you for your friendship. I SO appreciate the wonderful times we have shared.
My body has started shutting down so I am too weak to personally talk to each of you, or even text or Email. I know you are sending your prayers and love. My sister Nancy will publish a final message letting you know when I am gone. I have been told I won't suffer.
Goodbye with love, Zoe
Epilogue: Zoe died early this morning (Sunday the 28th) at hospice. She entered the hospital last Monday afternoon, and by Friday morning we thought she was coming home, after a few days at hospice to get her strength up. On Friday afternoon the doctor let us know that we had only weeks and by Saturday, we knew that it would be shorter. I took her to hospice on Saturday at 5pm with the plan of spending time with her there before the end. Unfortunately, other plans were made and she was taken from us before we were ready or had said our goodbyes.
If you need to reach me, my Email is tally2126@yahoo.com or you can text me at 850-567-4281. I am not taking calls. If you would like a keepsake of hers, please let me know. Thank you for being her family.
In shared grief, Nancy Saunders
